Down to the south, a surface Low will form off the southeast Louisiana Coast tonight and track across the Florida Big Bend on Wednesday.
This will allow precipitation in the form of sleet, freezing rain and snow to be all mixed across the northern sections tonight.
We will be watching for freezing rain to affect north and east-central sections of Alabama, starting tonight and continuing into Wednesday.
A transition to all snow line will shift northeast to southwest during the late morning hours on Wednesday and continue through the evening hours…as cold air advection spreads from East to West across northeast and east-central Alabama.
There could be significant snowfall especially in the northeast sections of the state by later in the day.
Exact timing and locations of the freezing rain and snow areas will be affected by the Low and cold air advection, thus residents of Alabama should monitor local forecasts.
