We are watching development to our northwest.
It looks like a squall line of thunderstorms will move into northwest Alabama during the evening hours and move east through the night.
Strong straight-line winds will be associated with the line. Although not likely, a few tornadoes could develop out ahead of this line especially over northwest sections of the state.
The Storm Prediction Center has included a small portion of northwest Alabama under a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms. The rest of the state is included in the small risk area.
This graphic indicates the risk of damaging winds.
