The return of Arctic air for a very large part of the nation including Alabama will return this week.
The airmass associated with the midweek system still looks very cold, with precipitation along the leading edge as it plunges its way into the deep south Tuesday night.
There are some minor concern across the northern areas of the state as the moisture pulls out and the cold rushes in.
At this point, it still looks like the precipitation exits just before there can be any impacts.
Cold and blustery Wednesday with wind chill readings in the lower 30s to lower 40s. Everyone will be well below freezing Thursday morning with mid to upper teens in the northern sections of Alabama.
Low to middle 20s through the north-central into the southern sections and 30 all the way down to Mobile are likely.
