Warm Today — Rain and Cool Wednesday

Clouds will increase today…however southwest flow will allow temperatures to warm well into the 70’s this afternoon.

The warm, pleasant weather will come to an abrupt and temporary halt tonight as two upper level troughs move into Alabama.

Chances for rain showers will move into the southwestern areas of the state later this afternoon. During the night, the best chance for rain looks to be across eastern sections of the state where life and moisture appear to be the greatest.

There could also be enough instability for some thunder showers, however nothing severe.

A northern stream trough will come into play after midnight as it causes a strong cold front to surge south. We can expect light showers through at least noon on Wednesday.

The front will blast through on Wednesday with temperature taking a nosedive. Winds will likely reach over 25 mph late morning and afternoon, with gusts to 40 mph.

The much cooler and drier conditions will spread into the state for Wednesday night into Thursday.
