We are expecting another warm spring day across Alabama today. There will be more clouds and a chance of showers across the Tennessee Valley, with highs around 70. Mid to upper 70’s can be expected across the rest of the state by this afternoon.
A cold front approaches form the northwest tonight with rain chances increasing and spreading over the state on Sunday. Most all areas will receive rain with around 1/2 inch totals likely.
Marginal instability should bring isolated thundershowers across the state, with the primary threat of brief wind gusts. No severe weather is expected.
Cooler air will be moving in with the rain, with highs on Sunday in the 50’s and 60’s. The showers should push out by the evening hours on Sunday with a dry but cool day expected on Monday.
As we look into next week, a continued cooling trend with gusty winds on Tuesday. Freezing temperatures will be likely this week, with temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average for late March.
