As of 8 am this morning, rain continues to pour in central Alabama.
The skies should become partly cloudy by the afternoon and southerly flow will push temperatures back to near 70 degrees for many areas.
A cold front approaches Alabama tonight bringing back more rain and scattered thunderstorms.
Although the risk exist for severe thunderstorms over the western half of Alabama, no widespread severe weather is expected.
There may actually be two separate sections, one near the low pressure in the northwest and one in the southwest where the best instability will be.
The main threats from the stronger storms will be large hail and damaging winds.
