The Flood Watch includes the following counties in southeast Alabama… Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston.
A strong gulf low pressure area will move toward the region on Thursday night and approach the Florida Panhandle on Friday.
A large area of moderate to heavy rainfall will overspread the region on Friday.
While there are still some minor differences in the forecasts for the track of the low pressure system, confidence continues to increase in a significant rainfall event across the region with widespread heavy rain.
Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are likely with isolated maximum totals in excess of 6 inches across portions of the region.
