An absolutely beautiful day across Alabama today with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s.
Dry weather should continue tonight and on Thursday, as high pressure slides to our east.
A southerly flow should help increase moisture levels again on Thursday afternoon.
We should see some scattered showers and thundershowers develop over northwestern sections of the state Thursday evening.
Rain chances increase Thursday night into Friday morning as a surface low tracks across the Ohio River Valley, with a cold front extending southward.
Models have been coming in with less moisture but are pretty consistent with the timing of the system. The highest rain chances will be across the northern sections, closer to the low and upper level system.
Rain will end from west to east Friday morning with the system exiting to the east.
At this point, we will hold on to a dry and nice forecast for the weekend. Highs will range from near 80 across the northern areas to the mid 80’s across the southern sections of the state.
