A disturbance is kicking off a round of showers and a few thunderstorms across northern sections of the state this morning.
The rain is moving in a west to east fashion as there is not much southward push of the showers with this system. There is some uncertainly as to how far south the band will go.
As of now, the higher rain chances will exist across northern and east Central Alabama today. There will also be a risk for a few thunderstorms.
Temperatures will be cooler to the north where clouds will be more widespread and rain more prevalent, and warmer to the south where generally dry conditions are forecast.
Any lingering showers will come to an end along the Georgia state line during the afternoon. High pressure is expected to build back in with dry and warm conditions state wide on Monday.
