Memorial Day has started out a bit stormy early this morning for parts of northeast Alabama. The rest of the state is dry and warm.
Although high pressure remains in control of our weather, the humidity and heat will allow for scattered thunderstorms to develop this afternoon and evening.
The most favored areas to see any thunderstorms will be northern and eastern sections. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph, small hail and frequent lightning will be possible with the strongest storms.
Like on Sunday, a few of the storms may briefly become severe with damaging winds and hail.
With a summer type pattern in place, high temperatures will range from the mid 80’s in elevated terrain of northeast Alabama to the upper 80s and lower 90s elsewhere.
