A upper level low is rotating towards the Mississippi River Valley today. Ahead of the low, several areas of showers and storms are occurring in Mississippi this morning.
We expect bands of showers and thunderstorms to rotate around the upper low affecting the Alabama today. The better chances will be over the western sections however all areas can expect decent chances of getting wet.
The increase in clouds and rain will help to hold back temperatures into the low and mid 80’s as well.
No organized severe weather is expected, however we don’t rule out a few storms becoming briefly severe.
The main threat will be locally heavy rains, strong wind gusts and dangerous cloud to ground lightning.
The chances of storms will lessen into the overnight hours tonight, but a few will linger to well after sunset.
