Flash Flood Watch Southwest Alabama

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Flash Flood Watch for areas of Southwest Alabama.
The watch is in effect through 6 PM Friday afternoon.

Th watch includes the following counties…in southwest Alabama…Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia, lower Baldwin, lower Mobile, upper Baldwin, upper Mobile, Monroe, Washington and Wilcox.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and move across southwest Alabama.

Rainfall totals averaging 2 to 3 inches per hour will be likely with most of the heavier rain bands moving onshore through Friday afternoon.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.
