Drier and slightly cooler air will shift into east Alabama today.
As a result, the better chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms will be in areas along and west of I-65.
Like on Sunday, the convection will develop mostly during the heating of the day.
Afternoon highs today are expected to reach around 80 in the northeast sections, with mid 80’s elsewhere.
A weak short wave trough will pass to the north of Alabama on Tuesday. This feature will bring a chance of thunderstorms to mainly the norther half of the state on Tuesday.
The low level flow will shift to the southwest on Tuesday and this will bring in slightly warmer daytime temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to become warmer through the mid-week as drier air limits the rain chances.
