Another active weather day is expected for Alabama today. A very unstable airmass is located across the state.
We expect continued development of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, especially with the heating of the day.
The Storm Prediction Center has much of the state under the standard or slight risk of severe weather. The main threats will be damaging straight-line winds and large hail.
We expect temperatures to warm into the upper 80’s this morning outside any shower areas, and perhaps some areas reaching the low 90’s by afternoon.
This will help fuel the development of the thunderstorms.
Thunderstorms may develop at any time today. The main time-frame for severe storms will be from 2 to 10 pm this afternoon and evening.
