A cold front is located in north Mississippi this morning. Some showers and thunderstorms have pushed into west Alabama this morning. None of the storms are severe, and we won’t see any severe weather today.
We expect the front to be the focus of scattered showers and thunderstorms through the day. Not all areas will receive rain, but a few locations will receive some locally heavy rain.
The threat of rain will end west to east as the cold front moves through the area.
It now looks like we will see the front move through the state by tonight and drier air will limit rain chances for the weekend.
Both Saturday and Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny and dry. There will be a few widely scattered afternoon thundershowers possible mainly over southern sections of the state.
