Hot and Humid — Scattered Storms

Hot and humid weather has set in across Alabama as temperatures approach 90 to 95 in most locations.

The combination of the heat, humidity and upper level impulses will produce scattered thunderstorms.

Most locations will remain dry, however if you are caught under one of these storms… you can expect to see heavy rain.

The storms will be slow moving and develop and move from erratic directions.

In addition to locally heavy rain… frequent lightning strikes and gusty winds are possible. Some of the winds may produce downbursts that produce wind damage.

If you are caught outdoors and hear thunder, you will want to get indoors to shelter to avoid being struck by lightning.
