Scattered showers and thunderstorms have been developing on opposite ends of the state this afternoon.
A band of thundershowers from Muscle Shoals to Gadsden was located along the tail end of a short wave trough.
Other activity has developed over southwest Alabama where deeper moisture is located.
All the activity is driven from the afternoon heat and humidity and expect a general decrease in coverage after sunset. Chances for isolated activity will continue through the night.
Deeper moisture is located to the west of Alabama, and this moisture will work its way northeast and east into Alabama on Thursday and Friday.
As a result, we expect to see more in the way of showers and thunderstorm coverage.
The clouds and rain will also hold down afternoon temperatures a bit on Thursday and Friday…with most areas staying below 90 degrees.
