We expect to see fewer storms across the northern two-thirds of the state today. Scattered thundershowers are expected in the south and western sections.
With less clouds and showers, temperatures will be much warmer than the past few days. Highs are expected to reach the upper 80’s and low 90’s.
A short wave trough will move into Texas on Thursday and low level moisture will spread back into Alabama from the west. An upper ridge over the northern Gulf of Mexico will pump mid-level moisture into the Mississippi River Basin.
The deeper moisture will then get pulled across Alabama. Above normal rain chances will be the rule for Thursday and Friday.
Starting this weekend and lasting into early next week…The Gulf ridge will build northward and allow drier and hotter conditions to return.
