Is the Polar Vortex coming next week? The answer is a simple ‘No’.
However, it’s an unusually deep trough and upper level low for mid July.
The national media loves to use that term, which I suppose the ‘hype’ helps their ratings.
There is a good chance that north and central Alabama reaches the upper 50’s Wednesday night.
While some record lows may be broken for July, temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal doesn’t mean it’s caused by the Polar Vortex.
Before the cooler air arrives next week, we will see plenty of 90’s into Tuesday of next week…which is normal for this time of year.
This post offers a good explanation of next weeks cooler temperatures for the east.
