A very warm, moist and unstable airmass remains over the state. The upper low that has produced scattered storms in recent days has shifted westward into southern Mississippi.
The continued circulation associated with the low will aid the eastern flow today, and as daytime heating builds…we expect to see more scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop.
The high moisture count is a sign that some of these storms will produce some locally heavy rainfall amounts in a short period of time. Some folks could pick up a couple of inches of rain in a short period of time.
Movement of the rain and storms will be out of the east towards the west.
Daytime highs will be held back some due to the increase in clouds and rain, however the humidity will produce a tropical-like feeling in the air.
