With a warm and humid airmass in place, daytime heating will allow scattered thunderstorms to develop again today.
A upper low centered near New Orleans will again provide for a chance of showers and thunderstorms…especially this afternoon.
Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rainfall amounts in a short period of time. Strong gusty winds are also possible, but no significant severe weather is expected.
Afternoon high temperatures should range from 86 to 91 as we expect to see more sun than we’ve seen so far this week.
We will have a weak cold front push down from the north on Thursday, and this will bring more widespread showers and storms to the forecast for the state.
We expect the front to clear most of the state except the southeast sections by Friday morning. This could allow for more typical summer time weather for the weekend.
