Mostly cloudy skies are expected today along with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
A weak disturbance is located over central Mississippi this morning and will move northeast today.
This will combine with the warm, moist air in place over Alabama and increase the coverage of showers and storms.
Some areas can expect to see some locally heavy rainfall, while most locations can expect generally light rain totals of less than 1/4 of an inch.
We expect the scattered showers this morning to diminish by late morning or early afternoon. We then may see additional showers and thunderstorms develop in the heat of the day this afternoon.
Afternoon highs will be in the middle 80’s across the north and upper 80’s to near 90 in the south.
Drier air looks to move into the region on Sunday and this will decrease the clouds and rain chances, as temperatures rise a few degrees.
