A cold front sets to the west of Alabama over northern Mississippi and west Tennessee early this Tuesday morning. Any storms associated with the front last night have all died down.
We expect the front to make a push towards the southeast today and move down into the state.
By late morning, the combination of daytime heating interacting with the front will produced some scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The storms will occur along and to the south of the front. Areas of northwest Alabama will see the least chance of seeing any scattered storms while south and east Alabama have the better chance.
Some of the storms will be heavy rain producers along with strong gusty winds.
Drier air will move in behind the front, and will pretty much take the chances of the rain out of the forecast for a few days.
Cooler air will settle end and will most be felt during the night time and early morning through the end of the week.
