The cold front continues to push south through the state early this morning.
A drier and cooler surge from the north continued to filter southward into north Alabama.
It looks as thought the front will clear the coast and stay just south of the state for the next several days.
The much drier air behind the font should lead to sunny skies and near zero rain chances for most of the state today. We may see a few showers and thunderstorms this afternoon over extreme southeast Alabama.
Afternoon high temperatures will reach the mid 80’s across the northern sections and upper 80’s across the central sections today. The drier air will help the temperatures to feel less oppressive that what we would normally see for mid August.
We will still see temperatures in the south reach into the lower 90’s as the drier air won’t make a strong appearance down south until Thursday.
