The upper level system that produced the strong to severe storms across Alabama on Monday has pushed into Georgia.
An unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue across the area today as lingering weak upper disturbances impact much of the region.
We don’t expect to see the storms becoming severe as on Monday, but some areas will receive locally heavy rains, strong winds and lots of lightning.
The storms today may be more scattered in nature as well. Outside of scattered showers and thunderstorms, afternoon temperatures are expected to be fairly seasonal for this time of the year, with highs mainly around 90 degrees.
An upper ridge of high pressure will push east into Alabama tonight and this will push a good deal of the moisture out of the state.
The weather is expected to become drier and hotter on Wednesday and continue through the weekend.
