The hottest temperatures so far this year are expected today through Saturday evening over Alabama.
We should see at least scattered reports of 100 degrees over the next few days.
The entire state of Alabama is now included in a Heat Advisory in effect from this morning through at least Saturday evening.
Temperatures will range between 96 to 100 degrees. High humidity will allow heat index values to rise from 102 to 108 degrees.
Look for only isolated to scattered, mainly afternoon, showers and thunderstorms across the southeast two thirds of Central Alabama, or generally along and south I-59 and along and east of I-65.
Outside of the ‘lucky’ rain areas, afternoon high temperatures will be brutal with high temperatures expected to run generally in the upper 90s except for a few ‘lucky’ middle 90s across portions of the far north.
Remember to keep hydrated, and limit time outside in the heat!
