The heat index will be over 100 degrees state wide today as the heat continues to build across the southeast.
The National Weather Service office in Mobile is forecasting high temperatures today through Sunday will range from the mid 90’s near the coast to the upper 90s to around 100 degrees over interior areas.
These hot temperatures when combined with the relative humidity will result in afternoon heat indices between 106-110 degrees across the area this afternoon and Saturday afternoon. A Heat Advisory is now in effect for most areas today and Saturday.

The official forecast for Dothan is a forecast high of 101, with a heat index of 111 degrees for this afternoon.
