High pressure is expected to remain in control of the weather across Alabama for one more day today.
We expect to see a decent amount of sunshine and hot temperatures into the mid 90’s in many locations.
Most of Alabama is expected to remain dry through this afternoon. There will be a few showers and storms possible over the southern third of the state this afternoon. The best chances of activity will be towards the coastal areas of Mobile and Baldwin counties.
We will be watching a series of short waves in the southern stream move northward tonight, that could produce some scattered activity over the rest of the state.
Showers and thunderstorms will become likely for Saturday and into Sunday, as several upper level disturbances are expected to rotate northeastward through the region.
There are indications that drier conditions could move into the state on Monday. However this could change depending on the future timing of the systems moving through the area. We would still expect to see some scattered storms develop in the heat of the day.
