Labor Day weekend looks to be unsettled as rain chances increase throughout today and tonight.
A southerly flow has developed across Alabama and this will help increase moisture over the state.
Scattered showers will be around this morning, with showers and thunderstorms increasing this afternoon and into the evening.
The highest chances of rain will be over western and northwestern sections of the state.
A strong storm cannot be ruled out today. Gusty winds in the 40-50 mph range, locally heavy rainfall and frequent lightning will accompany the stronger storms.
With the dry conditions in place over Alabama, flooding is not expected to be an issue.
While some areas receive some beneficial rains, the scattered nature of this system will leave some areas with little if any rainfall totals.
A return to warmer and generally drier weather is forecast for Labor Day Monday.
