A very warm, moist and unstable airmass covers Alabama today and expect good chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop again today.
We expect a weak frontal boundary to sag into the state this afternoon as an upper trough swings over the Ohio Valley.
The enhanced lift over the area is expected to initiate scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms later today.
Torrential rainfall and gusty winds will be possible with some of the storms.
Outside of storm areas, the afternoon highs will top out in the upper 80’s to around 90 degrees over northern sections. Highs will reach into the low 90’s over southern areas.
A second front is expected to move southward into the state early Sunday morning, and advance over the southern third of the state by Sunday afternoon.
This front will push the best chances of thunderstorms over south Alabama for Sunday and Monday.
