A weak surface front pushed southward into central Alabama on Sunday.
We shouldn’t see much relief in terms of cooler air just yet…as the front is still expected to wash out just south of the I-20 corridor.
With plenty of moisture in place, the best rain chances will be across the south and southeastern counties this afternoon. This would be for areas along and south of the I-85 corridor.
For the rest of Alabama, we expect partly cloudy conditions with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the heat of the afternoon.
These storms will continue to produce heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds at times.
Afternoon highs will be in the upper 80’s and low 90’s.
