The old cold front is now over southern Alabama and extending into central Georgia. We expect to see mostly cloudy conditions across Alabama today.
The front is expected to remain near stationary for the rest of the weekend. This will keep the very warm, moist conditions in place over the southern third of the state.
For the northern third of the state, cooler air will keep the afternoon highs only in the 70’s today. There may be a few showers as well, but no significant rain is expected across the northern sections.
Across central sections…the temperatures will reach around 80 with isolated thunderstorms possible this afternoon. No widespread rain or storms are expected.
For southern sections… scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected along and south of the front.
Locally heavy rainfall will occur in some of the thunderstorm activity.
Highs will reach into the mid and upper 80’s as the warm and muggy airmass remains in place over south Alabama.
