High pressure is forecast to move into Alabama today from the northwest. This should lead to several days of rain free weather for most of the state.
Morning clouds should mix out and give way to lots of sunshine today.
The front that moved into Alabama on Tuesday has moved off the coast, so the drier air should be felt state wide. However, there will be a slight chance of a thunderstorm for the southern sections of the state today.
A northwesterly upper level flow through the rest of the work week should keep the Gulf moisture shut off for most of the state.
We will have to continue to watch what happens to the remnants of Odile…as there is a chance that some of the tropical moisture associated with that storm could eventually get carried eastward into the southeast states.
As for now, the next chance of any rain won’t come until Sunday.
Afternoon highs today will be around 80 over the Tennessee Valley. Low and mid 80’s for central sections and near 90 in the south.
