A northwest flow aloft is located over Alabama this morning. Generally, the weather setup would tend to keep most of the rain out of the area.
However the affects of an upper level system that fell apart over Arkansas last night have triggered scattered showers over extreme north and northeast Alabama.
Look for some showers and a few thunderstorms across the far northeast sections early this morning generally along and northeast of an Athens to Oneonta to Wedowee line.
There is some patchy early morning fog across the far south…generally south of the Interstate 85 corridor.
Otherwise, for today, look for partly cloudy skies across Alabama with highs in the lower to middle 80’s across the north to the upper 80’s to the lower 90’s elsewhere across the southern half of the area.
