High pressure wedging down the East Coast will provide an easterly low level flow into Alabama today.
There could be a few morning clouds around but those should thin out and allow partly to mostly sunny conditions to prevail over the state.
The weather models are in agreement in keeping conditions dry across most of Alabama today through Sunday afternoon. The only exception is a slight risk of a thunderstorm developing in northwest Alabama this afternoon.
Afternoon high temperatures will be mostly in the 80’s state wide today.
The next weather maker will be a cold front forecast to move through the area late Sunday into Monday. There will be at least a few showers and thunderstorms associated with the front moving through the state. We don’t look for any widespread rain, with chances of getting wet at 30% at best for Sunday evening into Monday.
Unlike the last few cold fronts, the upcoming one does seem to have the potential to move all the way through the state. This will allow a noticeably drier air mass to affect all of Alabama.
Noticeably cooler air is also expected with lows in the lower to mid 50’s for some folks next week.
