A frontal boundary is located northwest to southeast from southern Missouri into central Georgia this morning.
The best chances of showers and thunderstorms today through the weekend is expected to be over North Alabama…in closer proximity to the front.
A good chance of showers and thunderstorms will occur today over the northern third of the state, as the frontal boundary sags southward across the area.
A few of the storms may be strong, with gusty winds around 30mph and locally heavy rainfall possible.
Partly cloudy conditions are expected for central and southern sections with only a slight chance of an afternoon and evening thunderstorm.
Afternoon high temperatures will top out in the upper 70’s across the northern sections to upper 80’s in the south.
