A stationary front remains just north of Alabama this morning. Disturbances moving east along and south of the front continue to provide periods of showers and thunderstorms for northern section of the state.
This morning, patchy fog will be possible through the early morning hours. Showers and thunderstorms across the northern third this morning will diminish in coverage by mid day.
However, additional showers and storms will be possible later this afternoon and evening.
Highest rain chances will remain along and north of Interstate 20, closer to the stationary front.
Some storms later today could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning.
Highs will be in the upper 70’s across the north to upper 80’s south.
