The weather has went downhill fast late this afternoon across Alabama.
A band of thunderstorms moving quickly from south to north across north and central sections of the state has produced widespread wind damage.
Numerous reports of trees and power lines are down…along with some damage to homes and businesses reported.
The severe weather threat continues into tonight as more thunderstorms move into the state from Mississippi.
Damaging straight-line winds are still likely to move into west Alabama this evening. The risk remains for tornadoes to develop.
A tornado watch remains in effect until Midnight for north and northwest Alabama. Additional watches will likely be issued through the night.
Due to the widespread power outages already reported, many folks may remain without power through the night.
