You will need an umbrella handy today and tonight as rain chances increase from northwest to southeast over the state.
Look for increasing clouds early this morning with soaking rain likely over northwestern sections.
The shield of rain will gradually overspread the region from southwest to northeast during the morning and early afternoon.
Rainfall will continue to expand and intensify, especially by late Sunday afternoon.
We expect to see some heavier rains overnight as the low pressure in the Gulf ramps up and pushes large amounts of moisture into the state.
Most locations can expect upwards of 1 inch of rain by Monday morning, with locally heavier rainfall across the area.
We will also be watching for isolated strong to severe storms tonight mainly near the coast.
The rain moves out on Monday as colder air moves into Alabama. There could be some light frozen precipitation over northern sections on Monday on the backside of the low pressure system.
The gusty northwestern winds and big cool down will be the main weather factors that we will be dealing with for the first half of the week.
