Very mild weather conditions continue across Alabama today. Much of the southeast is currently residing in a mild and moist sector out ahead of a large storm system moving across the Midwest.
Conditions will become somewhat unstable at times today. Look for scattered showers to develop especially over the northern sections of the state.
An easterly flow will keep temperatures a bit cooler than yesterday for eastern and southeastern sections of Alabama today. The rest of the state will remain with above normal temperatures with plenty of clouds.
A surface low will move across the Ohio Valley region this evening and tonight…a trailing cold front will push into Alabama. Widespread showers will move into northwest counties this afternoon and spread south and eastward through the evening and tonight.
The heaviest rainfall totals through the day on Saturday should remain along and north of the Interstate 59 corridor…with 1/2″ to 1″ expected.
Rainfall amount are expected to become lighter in central and southern areas…as the rain chances weaken Saturday afternoon.
Cooler and drier air will filter into the state during the day on Sunday. Nothing extremely cold is expected for this time of year.
