The arctic airmass will move into Alabama Tuesday night…and as a result we expect the coldest temperatures that we’ve seen since January of 2014 settle into the deep south.
Once the temperatures go below freezing Tuesday evening, we don’t expect to see temperatures above freezing until Friday for the northern half of Alabama.
Temperatures in the single digits are expected by early Thursday morning across the northern third of the state.
Temperatures in the teens will reach all the way down to the coast.
Windchill readings are expected to reach below zero over the north Wednesday night with near zero readings well into southern sections of the state.
