The slow warming trend continues today for Alabama under mostly sunny skies.
We expect the afternoon highs to reach into the upper 30’s north to mid 40’s and upper 40’s south.
Even though it will be warmer tonight, temperatures will still be at or below the freezing mark.
Look for lows in the mid 20’s north to low 30’s south. Clouds will be on the increase through the night as well.
The moisture will gradually increase through Sunday. Rain chances return Sunday afternoon and continue into early next week.
The small probability of seeing any wintry mix this weekend appears to even less…with the onset of any rain occurring after temperatures have risen to above freezing.
The best rain chances for light rain are Sunday night into Monday as a weak disturbance moves over the region.
Next week still looks unsettled with variable cloudiness and passing light rain possible from time to time.
A more significant shortwave will move in late Wednesday into Thursday. At this time, it looks to be all rain…with some colder air not too far to our north.
However, we will be watching this system for any wintry weather potential.
