Rain begins to move in from the west this afternoon. Isolated to scattered showers are possible generally west of I-65.
Rain chances increase significantly Thursday night from southwest to northeast. Widespread light to moderate rain is expected after midnight.
Rain will continue on Friday with chances decreasing Friday night. A good soaking for most of Alabama is likely with this system.
Cooler air may filter in just before the rain ends. This may lead to some snow flurries mixing in with the rain across the north, starting Friday evening.
The Tennessee Valley region of north Alabama is going to be the most likely area to see some snowflakes. No accumulations are expected at this time.
