We are watching multiple boundaries across central Alabama this morning. A warm frontal boundary is located across the central part of the state as well.
The drier air that moved in on Wednesday helped to suppress the thunderstorm development, however today that air has been replaced with plenty of Gulf moisture.
The combination of daytime heating interacting with these areas will allow scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop through the day.
There could be some strong gusty winds and hail with some of the storms.
SPC has north and central sections of Alabama under the marginal risk of severe weather again today. Overall, no widespread severe storms are forecast for today. The more significant severe weather will be northwest of the state this afternoon and evening.
Friday into Friday night will be a different story, as we watch a strong cold front bring widespread thunderstorms into the state. The chances of more significant severe weather will overspread much of the state through the afternoon and evening on Friday.
