An upper level low pressure system is forecast to deepen and become anchored over the southern plains this week.
Strong south to southwest flow aloft will stream ample Gulf moisture into Alabama with periods of heavy rain likely.
Several upper level shortwaves will bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms state wide through much of this week.
At this point, we believe that the heaviest rain totals will be over the southern sections of the state.
Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Mobile and Baldwin counties where over 5 inches of rain have fallen.
