Shower and thunderstorm activity to our southwest ahead of a cold front will migrate slowly northeast towards Alabama today.
With the combination of afternoon heating and increasing dewpoints, we expect to see scattered thunderstorms develop in the western sections and move east this afternoon and evening.
The dynamics with this system will keep organized severe weather mainly well to the north of the state. We still cannot rule out some strong storms through the evening hours across the region.
The Storm Prediction Center continues to maintain a slight risk of severe weather across parts of Alabama…but no widespread severe storms are forecast.
The front will move into the state on Tuesday, and and slowly move through the area. There could be some additional thunderstorms along and just south of the front.
Drier air will move into regions behind the front, and dry weather will continue through the week.
