Scattered strong thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and continue through the evening hours.
The Storm Prediction Center has place a marginal risk of severe storms for all but the southeast sections of the state. We don’t expect widespread severe storms, but a few could become severe.
The storms may produce strong wind gusts up to 60 mph, torrential rain, small hail and frequent lightning.
A cold front will move into Alabama this evening bring an end to the severe threat.
