The next system located just to our west will produce showers and thunderstorms across west Alabama this morning and east Alabama this afternoon.
The clouds over the region, along with weak low level inflow, and cooler temperatures across north and west Alabama will greatly hinder severe storm development today.
The Storm Prediction Center has downgraded the severe threat to Marginal for today.
The best instability will be across the southeast counties this afternoon as temperatures warm into the middle 80’s in this region.
Thunderstorms will still be capable of strong gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall across the state through the day.
