The forecast for the next several days will be fairly typical for this time of year.
For today and Friday, there will be a weak trough over the area, with some cooler air aloft in the atmosphere.
This trough will combine with the abundant low-level moisture over Alabama to create scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and evening.
Locally heavy rain, strong gusty winds, frequent lightning and some hail is possible with the stronger storms.
A trend to lower thunderstorms chances will begin Saturday and continue into the upcoming week as an upper-level ridge of high pressure strengthens over the area.
This pattern will also produce some hot temperatures with low to mid 90’s for daytime highs through much of next week.
