High pressure will begin to strengthen to our east today, but not before we see another day of scattered to perhaps numerous showers and storms developing once again in the afternoon.
The best chance for storms will begin across the southern and southwest counties by Noon and this area will move northward. Additional boundaries left over from Friday’s activity will also act as a trigger for more scattered storms to develop.
The thundershower activity should diminish by sunset and a warm and muggy night will prevail over the region.
The high pressure ridge will strengthen on Sunday, and we should see primarily a dry day across most of Alabama. The will be a chance of an isolated afternoon thunderstorm.
Hot and mostly dry weather will prevail through mid-week across the southeast.
The heat will be on with daytime temperatures reaching the low and mid 90’s for most locations.
Heat index values of 100 to 103 degrees will be common across Alabama well into next week.
